Sewcial Sew-Much Fun!
September, National Sewing Month, has sure been chock full of sewing festivities.
I wanted to share some fun memories of the amazing 3-day Sewcial Sewing Retreat in Novi, MI.
Jessica did an outstanding job organizing the event and all of the ladies (and one gentleman) worked hard in all four classes.
#Sewcial is such a fun event.
This year the four instructors were Janet Pray (@IslanderSewingSystems), Sue O'Very (@SueO'VeryDesigns), Lorraine Henry (Pattern Alteration and Master Fitter) and me (serger expert, @GailPatriceDesign).
Our fun began Thursday September 21st with a Sip & Shop at the famous Haberman Fabrics in Royal Oak, MI. We were lucky enough to take advantage of their 30% off everything moving/retirement sale (it may still be available on their website). Our "Sewcial-ites" certainly lightened their load for packing up inventory. It's amazing there was still room for all of us on the bus for the return trip to the hotel!
We exchanged our secret sewer gifts during the cocktail reception in the evening. My new weighted sewing scrap bag is already in use next to my sewing machine-love it!
Friday and Saturday were fast-paced days each with a morning and afternoon session. Our attendees split into four groups and they rotated among the classes. Friday night featured a banquet dinner and Sewing Extravaganza Party. Lots of fun education and making new friends. Congratulations to everyone and thanks for attending!
